Narrative Supervision Cross -Training Immersion Course
8 day intensive, 40 CEC's

"My cross - training supervision immersion was a great experience. I experienced a lot of commitment and respect from all the people involved. This atmosphere of trust helped a lot to beyond self - surveillance and enter wonderment. I would say it's a must - do if you want to enhance your NT practice - and it also opens to a very thorough clinical practice."

"Supervision was so incredibly satisfying. The combination of skill building and transcript analysis created a professional learning atmosphere that was not only safe, but encouraging, empowering, and informative. I would like to think that learning from Stephen and Rock must have felt very similar to how they felt learning from Micheal White himself. The level of transparency and collaboration felt like being part of something highly engaged. I sincerely hope there will be further opportunities to continue building on the language and skills this Cross Training Supervision program developed."

- Supervision Participant November 2022 - April 2023. Vancouver, Canada.

PHILOSOPHY:  It is not the length of the session transcript that counts!

We ask participants to submit transcripts for narrative supervision that include no more than 6 continuous questions they have asked in a recent session.

*Each participant submits 2 transcripts during the supervision course, + watches/learns through each of their small group members' one-on-one supervisions.

DESIGN: One-to-One Supervision + group learning and consultation. VSNT Supervision is designed as a hands on, hard working, learning experience, where supervisors spend hours with participant session transcript submissions before - they spend more hours supervising each participant ~ LIVE.

PURPOSE: A VSNT faculty supervisor's purpose, is to fundamentally facilitate a change in a participants therapeutic skill, creativity, knowledge, confidence, dexterity, and execution - inside the therapy room.

HOPE: Participants completing the 4-month Cross Training Narrative Therapy Supervision course learn the theoretical, ecological, emotional, relational, and deeply political learning experience of narrative therapy practice, AND, grow into our next generation of brilliant narrative therapists and leaders.

VSNT resident Philosopher Todd May guides the group (lucky you!) on the crucial philosophical difference between 'creating’ as opposed to 'discovering' client stories within the narrative practice ideas that: people are multi-storied, and the practice of re-storying lives and relationships. He then leads discussions on the subjects of values, valuing, and the idea/practice of what it is to care. The complexity and purpose of these new discussions assist participants in making clear distinctions regarding a variety of interpretations and misunderstandings surrounding ideas central to narrative practice.
